How to Recycle your old security devices.

Recycling your old security devices and electronics is simple!

Q: Why is recycling your old electronical equipment so important?

A: Because electrical waste is the fastest-growing waste stream in the UK.

Many appliances and devices can be repaired or recycled, conserving valuable natural resources and protecting our environment. Disposing of electrical equipment in landfills leads to the release of hazardous substances, contaminating soil and water, and harming wildlife and human health.

Look for the crossed-out wheeled bin symbol on your electronics as a reminder that they should be recycled, not thrown in the bin.

What are OC Services doing to help?

We're proud to partner with our local authorities to provide accessible recycling facilities for electrical equipment.

As a responsible retailer, we comply with The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive which  mandates that countries prioritise the separate collection and environmentally sound processing of electronic waste. We fulfil these obligations through our membership in the Distributor Take-back Scheme (DTS), registration number 700665, financially supporting a national network of WEEE recycling centres. This ensures that customers purchasing new electrical equipment from us can conveniently and freely recycle their old items. For more information on WEEE recycling and to find your nearest recycling centre, please visit the Recycle More website at www.recycle-more.co.uk.
