Fire & Security Engineer


Job Type: Full-time


Pay: £32,000.00-£40,000.00 per year (depending on skill level and experience)

  • 40-hours a week worked Monday - Friday (core hours 08:30-17:30)

Are you a skilled Fire & Security Engineer seeking a permanent, full-time role? Join our growing team and be a key player in safeguarding properties across Surrey and the surrounding areas!


About the Role:

As a Fire & Security Engineer, you will be responsible for installing, servicing, and repairing a wide range of fire and security systems, including fire alarms, intruder alarms, access control, and CCTV. You'll provide exceptional on-site service, building strong relationships with our clients and upholding our commitment to first-rate customer service.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, service, and repair fire, intruder, CCTV and access control security systems on commercial and residential sites.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve security system issues and malfunctions
  • Provide technical support and guidance to end-users
  • Working on high net work and prestigious sites
  • Represent the company professionally, providing top-quality service to clients.
  • Maintain accurate records of all work completed.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations.
  • Participate in an on-call rota for emergency response. (engineers on-call will be required to respond to after-hours works.)


What You'll Need:

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in Fire & Security Engineering, with hands-on experience installing, servicing, and repairing fire alarm, intruder alarm, access control, and CCTV systems.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of fire alarm and security system installation techniques, equipment, and tools. Familiarity with industry regulations and standards.
  • Skills with the following systems:
    • Conventional & Addressed Fire Alarm Systems: C-Tec, Gent, Notifier, Kentec, Ziton, Advanced, Morley, Protec
    • Access Control Systems: Paxton, Lenel, Gallagher, Brivo, BPT, ACT, Inner Range
    • Intercom Systems: BPT, Comelit, Videx, Bell, Aiphone, AES, Fermax, Telguard
    • Wired & Wireless Intruder Alarm Systems: Texecom, Orisec, Galaxy, Scantronic, Pyronix, Visonic
    • IP & Analogue CCTV Systems: Hikvision, Dahua, Axis, Avigilon, Pelco, Hanwa
  • Personal Attributes: Excellent problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Willingness to work flexible hours.


Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of British Standards (e.g. BS5839-1 , BS50131, PD6662), BAFE / FIA requirements and SSAIB/NSI Codes of Practice.
  • FIA or equivalent training is highly desirable
  • 18th Edition, NVQ, CITY and Guilds or BTEC is desired but not essential
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Full Clean UK Drivers Licence (Essential)
  • The right to work in the UK
  • ECS/CSCS Card.
  • This position will be subject to an Enhanced DBS Check, BS7858 Security Screening and Security Clearance (SC) Checks.
  • Supply of own hand-tools.


Location:

Each day you will be working at different customer locations, this may involve adjustments of your working day including early starts or late finishes. The needs of the business may require you to stay away from home on occasision, suitable hotel accommodation including evening meal and breakfast will be provided by the company as well as a stay away incentive.
