Remote Monitoring & Police Response

Professional alarm, CCTV and fire monitoring — with or without police response — for homes and businesses across Surrey

A security system protects your property. Remote monitoring makes sure someone is watching, listening and responding when it activates — whether you're there or not.

OC Services connects your security systems to a 24/7 Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC), where trained operators verify activations and respond according to your agreed plan — contacting keyholders, dispatching guards or requesting police attendance.

We design, install, maintain and monitor — one company responsible for everything, from the sensor on the wall to the operator in the ARC. Our monitoring is provided through EMCS Ltd, an NSI Goldapproved Alarm Receiving Centre.

Monitoring Services

Intruder Alarm Monitoring

When your alarm activates, the ARC receives the signal within seconds. Operators identify your site, verify the activation and follow your response plan — whether that's contacting keyholders, sending a guard or requesting police attendance.

With Police Response

For systems that meet the requirements set by the National Police Chiefs' Council (NPCC), the ARC can request police attendance for confirmed activations. Your system is registered with the local police force and issued a Unique Reference Number (URN). We design and install to the required standards and manage the URN application process for you.

CCTV Monitoring

Video verification when your alarm activates, proactive monitoring via analytics-driven alerts, and scheduled remote video patrols — providing a visible deterrent and regular checks without a physical guard on site.

Without Police Response

If your system doesn't qualify for police response, or you prefer an alternative, the ARC contacts your keyholders and/or dispatches a private security guard. This is a practical, effective response for many homes and businesses.

Fire Alarm

MonitoringAutomatic fire signal transmission to the ARC. The fire and rescue service is contacted on your behalf and your keyholders are notified simultaneously. Fault signals are also reported so issues are addressed before they become critical.

Not sure which is right for you? We'll assess your property and advise on the best option during your survey.

FAQ

Have a question about system networks? Our team are here to help—see below or get in touch for tailored advice.

What is an Alarm Receiving Centre?

What is an Alarm Receiving Centre?

A professionally staffed centre that receives signals from security systems 24/7/365. When your system activates, trained operators verify the event and respond — contacting keyholders, dispatching guards or requesting police. Our ARC, EMCS Ltd, holds NSI Gold approval.

What's the difference between police response and keyholder response?

What's the difference between police response and keyholder response?

With police response, the ARC requests police attendance for confirmed activations. Your system must meet specific standards and be registered with the police (URN). With keyholder response, the ARC contacts your nominated keyholders and/or dispatches a private guard. Both provide professional 24/7 monitoring.

Can I get police response for my existing system?

Can I get police response for my existing system?

Possibly. We'll survey your system and assess whether it meets the required standards. If it does, we connect it to monitoring and apply for your URN. If not, we'll advise on upgrades or recommend keyholder/guard response.

Can you monitor a system installed by another company?

Can you monitor a system installed by another company?

In many cases, yes — subject to a survey and compliance check. If upgrades are needed, we'll quote separately.

What happens if I get too many false alarms?

What happens if I get too many false alarms?

Excessive false alarms can result in police response being downgraded or withdrawn. We minimise false alarms through proper system design, regular maintenance and user training.

Can you monitor fire alarms as well as intruder alarms?

Can you monitor fire alarms as well as intruder alarms?

Yes. We monitor intruder alarms, CCTV and fire alarms — often on the same signalling path. Fire signals are handled separately and the fire service is contacted directly by the ARC.

What does monitoring cost?

What does monitoring cost?

Fees depend on the system type, response level, signalling path and any additional services. We provide clear, itemised quotes. Monitoring is typically billed quarterly or annually.
