Fire Alarm Systems for Religious Properties & Places of Worship

Sensitive, heritage-friendly fire detection for churches, mosques, temples and places of worship across Surrey

Religious buildings are often irreplaceable — historic architecture, centuries-old interiors, stained glass, artwork and items of deep spiritual significance. A fire in a place of worship can destroy not just a building but a community's heritage and gathering place. At the same time, these buildings are frequently used for far more than worship — community events, youth groups, food banks, concerts, meetings and education.

OC Services designs, installs and maintains fire alarm systems for religious properties across Surrey. We approach every project with sensitivity to the building's character, its community importance and any heritage or listed building considerations. Every system is installed to BS 5839-1 and designed to protect people, property and heritage.

Survey, Design & Installation

Addressable Fire Alarm Systems

Individual detector identification across complex buildings — nave, aisles, vestry, hall, kitchen, offices, bell tower and ancillary rooms. The panel shows exactly which detector has activated, enabling fast, targeted response.

Conventional Fire Alarm Systems

Zone-based detection for smaller places of worship, chapels and single-room buildings. Reliable and cost-effective.

Wireless Fire Alarm Systems

Ideal for listed buildings and historic properties where running cables through walls, ceilings and stonework isn't appropriate. Full BS 5839-1 compliance without damaging the fabric of the building.

Heat Detectors

For kitchens, boiler rooms and areas where smoke detectors would cause false alarms — particularly important in buildings with active kitchens serving community meals and events.

Aspirating Smoke Detection (ASD)

Ultra-early warning detection using discreet sampling pipes — particularly suited to large open worship spaces with high ceilings, vaulted roofs and areas where standard detectors can't be easily mounted or maintained.

Beam Detectors

For large open spaces with high ceilings where point detectors aren't practical. The beam projects across the space and triggers when smoke interrupts it.

Emergency Lighting

Escape route and open-area emergency lighting for worship spaces, halls, corridors, stairwells and external paths. Discreet fittings that respect the building's character. BS 5266 compliant.

Manual Call Points, Sounders & Visual Alarms

Break-glass points at exits, with sounders positioned to be heard throughout the building — including large worship spaces with high ceilings and thick walls.

Maintenance and Fault Support

Fire Alarm Systems are used constantly — so reliability matters. We offer maintenance and responsive support to keep your Fire panels working and your call points functioning correctly
