OC Services designs, installs and maintains fire alarm systems for religious properties across Surrey. We approach every project with sensitivity to the building's character, its community importance and any heritage or listed building considerations. Every system is installed to BS 5839-1 and designed to protect people, property and heritage.
Individual detector identification across complex buildings — nave, aisles, vestry, hall, kitchen, offices, bell tower and ancillary rooms. The panel shows exactly which detector has activated, enabling fast, targeted response.
Zone-based detection for smaller places of worship, chapels and single-room buildings. Reliable and cost-effective.
Ideal for listed buildings and historic properties where running cables through walls, ceilings and stonework isn't appropriate. Full BS 5839-1 compliance without damaging the fabric of the building.
For kitchens, boiler rooms and areas where smoke detectors would cause false alarms — particularly important in buildings with active kitchens serving community meals and events.
Ultra-early warning detection using discreet sampling pipes — particularly suited to large open worship spaces with high ceilings, vaulted roofs and areas where standard detectors can't be easily mounted or maintained.
For large open spaces with high ceilings where point detectors aren't practical. The beam projects across the space and triggers when smoke interrupts it.
Escape route and open-area emergency lighting for worship spaces, halls, corridors, stairwells and external paths. Discreet fittings that respect the building's character. BS 5266 compliant.
Break-glass points at exits, with sounders positioned to be heard throughout the building — including large worship spaces with high ceilings and thick walls.
Fire Alarm Systems are used constantly — so reliability matters. We offer maintenance and responsive support to keep your Fire panels working and your call points functioning correctly

Have a question about our Fire Alarm systems? Our team are here to help—see below or get in touch for tailored advice.
Can you install a fire alarm without damaging our listed building?
Yes. Wireless fire alarm systems provide full BS 5839-1 compliance without running cables through historic walls, ceilings or stonework. Where wired systems are preferred, we use discreet cabling routes agreed with your architect or conservation officer.
What system does our church/mosque/temple need?
This depends on your fire risk assessment, the size and layout of your building, its listed status and how it's used. We'll survey your building and recommend the right solution — often an addressable or wireless system for larger buildings, or a conventional system for smaller chapels and halls.
How do you handle high ceilings?
We use beam detectors, aspirating smoke detection or carefully positioned point detectors depending on the ceiling height, roof structure and building use. These technologies are designed for large open spaces where standard detectors aren't effective.
